Matrix Collection (10 Disc) DVD Boxset Artwork and further details

Matrix Collection
Released: December 2004
SRP: $59.99

Further details have begun to emerge on the new Matrix Collection which will be arriving in shops this December. It will be available in two editions. The first of these will be a standard edition including the three films along with The Animatrix and six-discs of bonus material. This will retail at around $59.99. The second will be a collector's giftset containing the ten-disc edition along with a Neo minibust and an 80-page book with never-before-seen artwork and storyboards. The retail price for this has yet to be confirmed. Now onto the discs themselves. Firstly, contrary to earlier reports, no extended cuts will be included. The Wachowski brothers are perfectly happy with the films as they are. There will be two new audio commentaries for each film - one from philosophers Ken Wilber and Cornel West (who analyze the meanings behind the films) and one from three professional critics who hated all three films! Also included will be all the scenes created for the Enter the Matrix video game, a new digital transfer for The Matrix and plenty more besides.

I just was about too post that...

Even though I already own the 3 films plus The Animatrix im still gonna get this for the commentaries (the 3 critics ones sound damn funny), a new transfer of the matrix and more extensive suppliments for the sequals. And at MSRP: $59.99, the set will probably be in the ballpark of $50 bucks and thats only 5 bucks a disc

I was expecting this to retail at LEAST $100,
boy was I wrong. $60 almost seems like a steal. Looks like I will be getting this one. I'll only be double dipping for Animatrix and Reloaded, as those are the only ones I have.

Line this sheep up

Even though the more I think about it the more I don't like the sequels, the original film in a hopefully better transfer along with a bunch of other stuff and a statuette makes this a must buy.
