for instance i love 28 days later, even though for a horror movie it didn't scare me all that much, despite all the claim of it being the scariest movies since blah blah whatever

I still found it intelligent, mature, and entertaining as hell

The only other movie that comes to mind for me really right now, in recent years, that people hyped up on the most horror wise and then I saw it and laughed but still enjoyed was The Blair Witch Project. Everyone talked about how terrifying it was, but I kind of thought of it as Scary Movie meets the Real World. I know a lot of people who couldn't sleep over it, but I can't really understand why.
