anyone whose been here for any length of time knows im a big fan of the movie "Backbeat" which is a film about The Beatles before they were the Beatles (and before Ringo Star) well universal released this movie on DVD last year in a barebones dvd in August 2003 well more than a year later and countless emails to Universal's customer service department WE ARE FINALLY GETTING A SPECIAL EDITION OF THIS FILM!!!

Starring: Stephen Dorff
Released: 25th January 2005
SRP: $14.98

Backbeat which stars Sheryl Lee, Stephen Dorff and Ian Hart. Both will be available to own from the 25th January next year, and should retail at around $14.98. Backbeat will include an all-new digitally remastered transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. We'll bring you further details shortly, but for now, here's the first look at artwork for Backbeat.

I liked this movie. Two reasons::

1 - It provides historical evidence that John Lennon was insane. He blows it with Astrid and eventually marry Yoko. Sure.... :p

2 - Sheryl Lee does not have to go anywhere near a body bag, for a change.

Backbeat had a couple of release dates that came and went.. nice to see they revisited it. The early history of The Beatles is certainly an interesting story.

as for Sheryl Lee.. I recall there was a steamy episode of Red Shoe Diaries with her & David Duchovny
