Jaws:30th Anniversary DVD Edition...... ??

With the 30th anniversary of Jaws being in 2005, pun intended, "We're gonna need a bigger DVD..." ! Yes, the one that came out for the 25th was good.. but there is just soooooooo much more Jaws goodies out there that could've made this it's release so much better.. but they decided to go only to a 1 DVD edition. I am a HUGE Jaws fan and if there was ever a time for Jaws to make a comeback (to DVD, to theaters, already a Jaws video game is being developed as we speak..) it would have to be next summer!

:flush: "This toliet.... swallow you whole..."

I'm a huge Jaws fan also. I have seen it over 40 times and I still love it. Don't get your hopes up too high. I don't see a re-issue in the near future.

Universal is one of the biggest offenders when it comes to double-dipping, so maybe Jaws is on-deck. But I know I'd only double-dip if it meant getting the original mix. It must make Universal execs tear the hair out of their heads; people constantly bitch that they want 5.1 mixes, dd & DTS options. But come on, when your movie has an Oscar-winning mix, isn't it retarded NOT to include that mix on a DVD?

Amen, brother. I actually sold off my DVD copy of Jaws because the new 5.1 mix removed/altered so many of the original sound effects (like the whale call) that I was constantly dragged out of the movie. I'd gladly double-dip on a 30th anniversary 2-disc set that contained the Oscar-winning original mono mix (the 5.1 can also be included for those who want it) and the complete, 2-hour Laurent Bouzereau documentary and full selection of deleted scenes and trailers/TV spots from the 1995 laserdisc. A theatrical reissue would be awesome, too (especially with the great white shark sighting near Woods Hole last month).

If they issue it, we will buy.

I love my current Jaws DVD, but if they were to reissue it with a few improvements, there's no doubt that I would be all over it.

Oh yeah, well, you can see ME in Volume 12 of the Carr family home movies!!! Wa-Bam!!!

Anyway... Jaws is one of my favorite movies of all time and certainly worthy of a double-dip, even in these "cutback" times.
