well folks, horror is certainly a genre that dvd has brought a lot to, so i'm wondering what (if anything) you folks are planning on watching this sunday?

i'm not too sure myself, cause i'm dj'ing a half hour at a local venue (all horror themes ) but i'll certainly post what i'm gonna watch when i've decided.

Frightening, no? I have a regular social life now, just like a normal human being. Sometimes I can't believe it myself.

Slightly OT (but much more on topic than my previous derail):

Millhouse, what are some of the selections that you'll be spinning, and are any of them from titles you will be watching that night?

Ooooo, spun right around back on topic! Am I good or what?

On Halloween itself, I'll be watching the Kent State vs Ohio football game film, which will probably be some of the shittiest tape I've ever been "honored" to break down. Saturday night however, my girlfriend is hosting a Halloween horror movie party. So far I know the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Darkness Falls are on the agenda. I might try to add From Hell just for something a little different.

Might I suggest dumping Darkness Falls altogether? Just my opinion, but I thought it was really horrible.

I've heard similar opinions, but I've never seen the flick. Plus the girlfriend has already rented it.

Do the world a favor and erase the tape, putting something superior in it's place.

Now that I've talked it down enough, perhaps in your lowered expectations you will enjoy the film.
My work here is done.

Nice choices Clamato. Might I suggest Bride as your main course since Young has such a nice, dessert-like finish.

Phantasm is one of the greatest horror films ever made. Great choice. Since it is my brother's birthday, he decides. Unfortunately he is not a horror fan. Born on Halloween and not a horror fan.

I've been gorging on horror movies all month (I just loves this time of year ), but on Halloween night itself, it's always the same Tim Burton triple feature:

-The Nightmare Before Christmas

-Vincent

-Frankenweenie

After all of the gore and nastiness of the past 30 days, I'll need something creepy but fun to come down (and Nightmare is the perfect segue from Halloween to Christmas). I can't wait until next October, when I can add Burton's The Corpse Bride to my yearly list.

While we're carving pumpkins the day before I think I'll start popping in movies as the day goes on. Duck in and out, I'm sure my sister won't mind, as she loves horror movies.
