Software to test DVDs for errors?
I was wondering if anyone knows of any software that scans dvds for errors. I just got a DVD and it came somewhat scratched and before I go through the hassle of sending it back I want to know if it will skip (without watching it all the way through to test). Thanks.

However, every player reacts differently. I got a netflix dvd in the other day that couldn't be recognized by one player, would only play half way with a 2nd, and worked perfectly in a 3rd (god, that sounds too much like goldilocks and the three bears!). ...so, it's really hard to determine how a scratched disc will react in any particular player...(although, i will profess that Sony players perform an excellent job at deterring errors on flakey dvd's...). |
