"Kagemusha" is a film I've been meaning to watch, I may buy that blind. I haven't seen much Suzuki or Becker, so their stuff goes on the back burner until I have time (and money) to focus on their work more.

Yes! Kagemusha is finally coming. I used to have it on laserdisc but I always thought that the transfer was a bit soft. Hopefully this will restore the film to the quality that it deserves.

I am very excited about Seijun Suzuki's stuff. I have seen his two most famous works, Tokyo Drifter and Branded to Kill and he is the man! I like the cover art for Youth of the Beast, but what is up with the black surrounding the people on Fighting Elegy? Looks a little sloppy, in my opinion.

That is a bit odd, only reason i can think of is that it helps to pop out the two figures a bit against all the rest of the black & white images. Either way they're still excellent covers, CC does it again.

HVe's recent Suzuki DVDs were excellent, and I'm glad some more are coming out.
Not too big on the extras, yet again, but still very cool.

He is still working hard over here in Japan,
currently directing Zhang Ziyi in a stage play.

Kagemusha..... i knew it. awesome.
