AVP Specs/Cover Art

Well we have several threads but all about the intentions of the new R rated cut. Well it doesn't seem like it will happen like most of Anderson's films that were to have a "much better cut" to come out soon *cough*Resident Evil*cough*Event Horizon*cough*

Any who we have final specs for the release including cover art. All form DVDAnswers.com

Quote:
Fox Home Entertainment has officially announced Alien Vs Predator which stars Sanaa Lathan, Raoul Bova, Lance Henriksen, Ewen Bremmer. The disc will be available to own from the 25th January next year, and should set you back around $29.98 in total. The film will be presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen along with English Dolby Digital 5.1, English DTS 5.1, French Dolby Digital 5.1 and Spanish Dolby Surround tracks. Extras will include an audio commentary by director Paul W.S. Anderson, Lance Henriksen and Sanaa Lathan, a second commentary by Alec Gillis, Tom Woodruff Jr. and John Bruno, an alternate opening version of the film, an AVP Making of Featurette and three deleted scenes entitled The Other Mexico, O Sole Mio and Predator Humour. Completing the package will be an Inside Look at Mr and Mrs Smith and Elektra, a Darkhorse AVP Comic Covers Galley containing sixty-five stills and DVD-ROM features containing Darkhorse's first edition of the AVP comic book and an exclusive look at the first 16 pages of the up-coming AVP graphic novel. A full screen release will be available from the same day.

Love the Alien cover but no word yet if they will offer both covers to choose from for both WS and P&S versions.

It was much more a Predator movie than an Alien movie, so I'm fine with the Predator cover...

The movie was enjoyable but certainly not great... worth owning for an Alien fanboy like myself.

I had some issues with the film, but overall I enjoyed it. I'll be picking this up.

I wouldn't get this anyway, but why does widescreen get the stupid predator. He has got to be the silliest, ugliest, lamest looking alien I have ever seen. Alien on the other hand, is sleek, pristine, a work alien beauty. To me the two are perfect descriptions of FS and WS only they have it switched.

What the hell is that?

Did the alien have an important appointment, or a promise he didn't want to forget?

Hey great, both Widescreen and Fullscreen version of the films, meaning I have two more chances to shun a Paul W.S. Anderson film.

Saw this at a preview screening. Had a blast. Fanboys can shut the hell up, sure there were some minor "non-canon" things but who gives a fuck? I showed up to see Aliens and Predators slap each other around and I got what I wanted in spades.
The one that pisses me off the most was people whining that the Predators were made "wimpy" or something. Now, if they had their GUNS, sure, they'd kick ass. But hand-to-hand, the Alien has the edge. A HUMAN can beat a Predator hand-to-hand, as the first movie so clearly demonstrated.
Not a finely crafted film (the best review of it to my mind was in, of all place, the New York Times), but a pretty good action flick.

Oh, and rumor control:

There is no real "R-rated" cut, according to the Digital Bits. So little was cut out of the final film that Fox decided it wasn't worth restoring any of it.

Anderson got to make the film he wanted to. He was unhappy that some of the gore got cut, but that's about it. A PG-13 was part of his contract.

Fox was not "unhappy" with the performance of the film and there wasn't a fight between Anderson and Fox. The movie took its weekend and pulled in $80 million in the US alone. That whole thing was purely fanboy bullshit posted on AICN by bitter types.

Even if there was only 4 seconds cut from the film, Fox should release an Unrated Version for us fans!

6.5. I like it, but I think most people will be satisfied with a rental.

The movie, like most of Anderson's work, is much better than people would have you believe. I, for one, was surprised that it actually took its time to get to the main action instead of just pandering to fanboys hoping to see yet another comic-book movie. I'll pick this one up, knowing full well that there will be an eventual "uncut" version.

Part of the reason I liked it, actually, was that, yeah, they took their time getting to the action, but once there...they killed all the fodder humans in one shot. No dicking around, no lame attempts for suspense with characters we don't care about...just BAM! Fodder gone!
