Vampyros Lesbos

I've ordered that DVD today, now my question: Has one of you guys seen the DVD already, what's the sound and picture quality like? Am I in for a bad or good surprise?

A transfer of a 70's cult movie always seems a bit risky, but what with the content of the film, I'm prepared to take risks....image...nude chicks sucking each others' blood....Alyssa comes to mind...but 70s style...even more psychedelic and cheesy...yeah...dead and loving it...or...sleazy and sublime?

I got this a long time ago and only watched a little bit here and there... and every scene I watched seemed to be the same half dozen segments of footage over and over again. One of these days I'll sit down and give it a good look-see. I bought it for my spouse, anyway... I never had much interest in it in the first place.

Why, then, did you order this movie?

The US disc is okay. Or rather, it was acceptable when people thought that the best available elements were used.

The basic transfer is decent, but non-anamorphic. The slugs are a pain in the ass - single black frames that flash up from time to time.

Anyway, a spanking new UK Region 2 disc of Vampyros Lesbos has now cropped up on the 'Second Sight' label, anamorphic and mastered from the original negative, so get this if you can.

I thought the original negatives were seriously damaged? Did they do a restoration on them?
