Simpsons DVD! Tell FOX how you want this release through this survey..

This was posted at the DVD Talk forums and I thought you guys would like to see it. Fox is surveying Simpsons fans through Epoll, and this could help in making the upcoming Simpsons DVD release be as good as possible.

Indeed, this is important. If our voices can be heard, or if our opinions can at least factor in to what they end up doing with the DVD, then that is a great thing. Thanks for the heads-up!

I'm curious to know how people answered question 16:

Indicate below your preferred type of release for The Simpsons on DVD:
  • 4 season boxset releases per year; No special features
  • 3 season boxset releases per year; Basic special features (eg. 2 or 3 from the previous question)
  • 2 season boxset release per year; Many special features (eg. 4+ from the previous question)
  • Not interested/Don’t know

If you answered two or three sets per year, what are the features you're hoping for?
  • 5.1 Audio or betterHD HD HD
  • Creator/talent commentaryHD HD HD
  • Episode scriptsHD HD HD
  • Re-mastered episodesHD HD HD
  • Trailer and/ or tv spotsHD HD HD
  • Behind the scenes footageHD HD HD
  • Music videosHD HD
  • CD soundtrack
  • Clips in other languagesHD HD HD
  • Interactive ROM HD HD HD
  • Video gameHD HD HD
  • Unseen footageHD HD HD
  • Image stillsHD HD HD
  • In pack bookletHD HD HD
  • OtherHD

Also, how would you want the sets presented?
  • Chronological order, eg. Season 1, Season 2, Season 3
  • Most recent season first, eg. Season 3, Season 2, Season 1
  • Themed based collections, eg. Greatest Conflicts, Funniest Episodes
  • Character based
  • "Best Of” collections
  • Other

I said I would prefer two boxsets per year. My chioce fratures would be creator/talent commentary, unseen footage and lastly, tv spots. And I would want them presented in chronological order.

I chose 2 box sets a year, with a load of extras. I also picked for them to be in chronological order. I can't wait!

Ditto squared

I'd be interested in the following options:
5.1 Audio
Creator/talent commentary
Episode scripts
Re-mastered episodes
Behind the scenes footage
Unseen footage
In pack booklet

Music videos would be kinda cool (there are only two I know of), but they're not all that important to me.

Also, it will be nice to see episodes unedited for the first time in a long time. Stupid syndication editing...

I think that goes without saying, 1138. The VHS releases have all been unedited, so it's a pretty good bet the DVDs will be unedited too. It'd be a damn shame if they weren't.

Oh, I didn't mean that I hope to see them unedited. I figured they would be. I'm just saying it will be nice that they will that way after years of having to watch them in syndication forced edits.. I don't do VHS anywmore, so I can't wait for these DVD's.

Sorry, 1138, I misunderstood.

One other thing I'd like to see is the collection of bumpers from the Tracey Ullman show, perhaps on a separate disc. They put a few on each of the original VHS tapes, between the two episodes.

Yeah, I could see how it was vague on what I meant.

The bumpers would be cool. We could forever see how raw they used to be.
