I hope they don't botch the transfer like Generations, as this is my favorite Next Gen movie. DTS should be awesome on this.

Like the "white case" fiasco? I still can't believe half the board shat itself over a CASE COLOR.

I edited the thread title. (nice typo)

And the cover looks as I expected it.

I am looking forward to a Michael and Denise Okuda text commentary.

And did anyone keep the white case on their copy of Undiscovered Country? (I think that was the one with the white case) Regardless, I couldn't have all those dark cases and the one white case in the middle.

For those of you that still do, just swap that white case out with another 2 disker that is a gray one. A few titles the white case will swap nicely with are; The Royal Tennenbaums, Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back, Clerks: Uncensored (animated) or Stray Dogs Criterion as all the cover art on those DVD's have predominately white backgrounds.

Personally I like using white cases with covers where the white will make something on the cover stand out. A "white" background is never the same white color and IMO it looks terrible. I swapped the ST VI cover with the black one from Snow White.

I wanted to wait for the boxset, but I can swallow $15 - $20 every few months a little better than the inevitable $100 + pricetag of the box. In the long I'll probably spend more money, but it's not all at once and I've already got the movies. I doubt there will be any bonus content included with the box set that the individual releases don't have, but I'll just have to wait and see if my gamble on that is correct.

Cover art is just as I had expected it to be. It looks great and I'm really excited to own First Contact. I think it's my favorite Trek movie. I'm still wondering if Paramount will reissue Nemesis to match the covers of all the rest. I hope that gets done.

I'm sure we will know by this time next year! I hope so too because Nemesis is the only Star Trek film I have not seen. I am sure they will do it so they can release a matching box set.

Of course it is, why do you think the original SE was so weak?

There's still a ton of cut scenes, several of which plug continuity errors (like Worf and Wesley). Hopefully they'll fix the other errors to turn photon torpedoes back red instead of blue,

I've learned that in the world of DVD, it's never safe to assume anything. I hope we get all those additional scenes, but at this point, I'm not assuming they will be there.

actually not to sound like a nerd but the photon torpedos are red the enterprise E in first contact forward has quantum torpedos wich are blue instead of red unless some character refered to them as photon ones then they are the wrong color

Yup. Picard says "fire photon torpedoes" and they come out blue, or vice-versa. Either way it was a big stupid careless error. They seem to randomly mix them up.

Silver.....hmmmm, got me thinking (a rarity, but heh).

Now I know why alot of the new audio/video equipment is coming out in silver! It's all an effort to keep up with the forward thinking of Star Trek!

(he he he....I'll leave now... )

Sounds like the same thing to me. Both torpedos. Both have to do with light. Colorization is only an issue of frequency.

Wasn't The Motion Picture's cover gold?

What's with that? I like the UK SE covers though, with those strips along the front.
