Any of the Columbia Tristar releases, not the ones by public domain companies.

As a HUGE Three Stooges fan, I can tell you that there are tons of great Three Stooges films. The guys were great!!
Like manicsounds says, stay away from the PD titles. Stick with the Columbia releases if you are going to buy some. But having said that, I must add that Columbia is doing a really pathetic job w/ the Stooge DVDs. It is almost laughable.
For a while, Columbia's product was at least passable. They released DVDs w/ 6 shorts for around $19.95. But then they went to 5 shorts! And now, on the last 2 DVDs, they dropped it to 4 shorts of which half are repeats from previous sets, and RAISED the price to $25 WTF!!! When I can buy 8 full length Abbot and Costello movies that run for over 700 minutes for around $25 or a full season of Gilligan's Island for $40 why do we have to pay $25 for only 60 minutes of 3 Stooges classics? GET WITH IT COLUMBIA!!!!!! YOU ARE TOO GREEDY!!!! But we can't live without the Stooges. So until Columbia releases box sets in order of all 190 3 Stooges shorts (which may never happen), we'll have to make do. So these discs are a really good "jumping in" place simply for the quality of the Stooge entertainment:
