The IMAX version was just shorter, like it says, as far as I know. I guess they're catering to those people who have IMAX screens in their houses.

I'm not double-dipping. It is one of my favorite movies of all time. There's no reason for me to buy a version that has a chopped up Apollo 13, when the DVD I have right now has the movie as I know and love it.

I'd buy it just to hear the DTS on the takeoff sequence. I bet that was impressive at the IMAX. Besides, I bought the collectors edition for 5 bucks. Minor double-dip for me.

No way will I get this, not only is is cut down, but the aspect ratio 2.35:1 is cropped to 1.66:1! Even those of us with Imax screens in our houses( ) can be satisfied with the original.

If you want DTS, get the original DTS version for $11 somewhere. Yes, the takeoff is earth moving in full rate DTS!

I don't see the point of this release. The original version is way better.

I hope that no one buys this version to teach Universal a lesson about their notorious double-dipping habit.

I was all excited when I started reading this until I realized that the DTS is only on the IMAX version.

Sorry Universal, I'll keep the version I have now (with DD 5.1).

Is the transfer redone on the original film version? It's not like the IMAX is the only version in this set folks...
