why I am returning the matrix box set

Well,

I got this in th email today and I just can't keep it. For one thing. I did not like the last movie in the series. Call me a Hollywood ending type of guy, but it botherd me the way it ended. Yeah i wanted anice and happy ending. Secondly, I already own all three, and I really only bought this for the first one's remastered video. That being said, it appears that in the near future we will get a single release in HD or otherwise, so I shall return this. I have watched the first one many times, but the next two, only once a piece.

So I still don't understand why you bought it in the first place.

Well,

I bought it because no matter what, I do like the movies, especially the first one. I am unhappy with how the series ended, but still like it. I guess I just now feel I spen 52 dollars on the frist one. I just want the first one by itself, as I am happy with the other two that I already own. And, with the announcements fo HD DVD coming by the end of next year, I feel Matrix woudl probably be one of their first relased

A few questions:

1) Do you have any pictures of the set?

2) How would you rate the condition?

3) Would you cover the shipping if I chose the Buy It Now option?

You don't by any chance have a Back to the Future trilogy (fixed versions, of course) that's sitting around underwhelming you, do you? I'd like to save on shipping.

Dude, just look at his feedback. I would seriously reconsider placing a bid.

It is quite nearly an impossible trek. Around the majestic Lake Erie, over the mighty Ohio River, and traversing the dangerous Allegheny Mountains. Many a man has been lost on such a journey, never to be seen or heard from again. Legend has it that those who haven't lost their lives have established encampments along the way, but those are just tales told by crazy old fur traders.

Or they just end up in Buffalo or Niagara Falls.

One of those insane traders told me such a tale of those two camps. He said that Buffalo was covered in a vast blanket of white that was nearly as deep as his chin. He claims that he has lost many a donkey in the frozen ivory death.

He also told of a camp near some grand falls. Supposedly, the natural beauty of the falls has been sullied by much gambling and figures carved of wax. He spoke often of attending something called the "Canadian Ballet" with a wistful look in his eyes that belied his age.

But I fear that the old fellow lost his mind many, many years ago. I think the native peoples have given him something to eat or smoke that made him see colors and not much else.

That's all I need, Lar! It's bad enough the set would be held up for weeks at the Ohio River while each member of the ship's crew had a night with it, but there's no way in fucking Hell I could live with the fact some damn Allegheny fur trader got his stinking mitts all over it!

On those cold lonely nights in the wilderness, a stack of DVDs is like a woman to them. And the bust of Keanu only adds to their illusion.

ok I get it.....i get i get it. I guess in retrospect, I have made some poor decisions, either way youlook at it and yes Ohio is a black hole. Remember, we are in Jesus Land according to Michael Moore

I will rewatch the other two that i already have before making up my mind for sure....I have not seen the animatrix.....for those that have is that good?

Keep it!

There's a lot more in this set than just the "first one's" remastered video. Besides, the set looks cool (or at least mine does) sitting next to the other 3 stand-alone movies. I wish the $89.99 set was a lot cheaper, I'd buy it also just for the sake of having it. I can' see spending that much for the same 10 disks, a comic book, plus a Neo "bust"...Now, maybe it they would have had a "Trinity" "bust" I might have picked it up

no, it sucks - return the set and exchange it for the adam sandler box set...you'll be glad you did...oh, and make sure it's the pan & scan set - those black bars totally suck and ruin every movie (especially the matrix - have you seen the cut off heads on that movie..sheeesh)

Be nice - not everyone likes Adam Sandler. There are a few Jerry Lewis fans kicking around. (I, for one, enjoy doing the kicking)

I really liked the animatrix. Some were clunkers, but all of them had great animation. I especially liked The Kid and Detective Story. Final Flight had incredible animation.

On a serious note...

One thing that disappoints me about the Matrix box is the severe lack of photo galleries that explore the conceptual art and the amazing story boards that Larry and Andy commissioned for the first film. They touch on some of these things in the docus but I would have liked to have seen a few hundred static screens showcasing that, like the extensive galleries of conceptual art found on the Toy Box set.

Other than that the set is great!

Got my set!

One question I was wondering:

The box seems to be made up of loads of tiny squares. Hold it up to the light and you can see these little roughly one-inch squares which makes up the lines of code cover.

All the ones in the shop were like this, so I'm thinking/hoping this is how the cover was made? I'd hate to be stuck with a botched one.

Well I have the two discs I really care about owning, The Matrix and the Animatrix. The extras are quite overwhelming, from what I've heard, so I'm rather tempted to buy it, given the fairly cheap price. At $60, including the extra scirpt booklets, that come with orders from select places, I may just break down and buy it.

Is anyone else disappointed with the packaging of this set? I mean, not wholeheartedly, but I have a few minor qualms:

1.) The separate slipcases slide out of the outer box too easily, and are very susceptible to bent corners and other wear and tear

and

2.) I hate the way the discs are nested on top of each other. It's a pain in the butt to have to remove the second disc to remove the main feature, then replace the other disc before putting the cardboard sleeve back into the case.

That said, the set is amazingly comprehensive, and I'm way happy with the contents. It's just the mechanics of the packaging that bug me

FYI: Rerelease in January of these discs with corrected versions.

Don't let him scam you. Make sure he has the original packaging. I've seen alot of keep case bootlegs.

i have a question, i just picked up the set for 58 bucks at best buy and i was curious did they port over all the stuff that was on the second discs of part II and III, one of my fave bits on the reloaded dvd was the sweet funny as hell spoof with seann scott and justin timberlake. my set is still in the shrinkwrap and id hate to open it and not be able to return it if it was replaced with new behind the scene stuff for reloaded.
