Make your own demo DVD?

Hey All,

I dont know much about DVD-R and I just got a DVD burner, so I'm learning as I go. I was thinking it would be cool to take scenes from films and THX and DTS trailers and put them on one DVD so I could show off my system with one disc. Any DVD-R gurus out there that could advise me on how to do this?

Thanks
-PH

Why not just pick up some demo DVDs like I did? The A/V quality is bound to be much better than the DVD-R you would burn.

Peace...

Get an XBOX and NFL 2K5. It has a fun DD 5.1 test feature. It's fun to play with for people who have never experienced home surround sound.

I made a disc of about 50 trailers, it is very sweet! I can send it to people if they really want. All I need is about $2.00 for shipping.

Hey pirate, I'm actually wanting to do something similar.

I'm in the market for a DVD-R and one of the main things I wanted to do was make a compilation of animated shorts in one disc.

Some examples of what I wanted to do:

-Most of the Pixar shorts that come with their big brothers (such as For The Birds, Mike's New Car, etc.)
-The short in the Ice Age DVD (with the squirrel).
-Some of the Roger Rabbit shorts on the SE.

and many others. I'm wondering if this is possible using something like DVDShrink. I'd love to have something like this to leave in my Explorer so that I can just pop the disc in for the kids when we travel.

FYI: All the above mentioned shorts I own so I don't think it would be illegal.

why would the audio/video quality be worse on a dvd-r? You can control the compression, and if you are using small files such as trailers or clips there is no reason for compression.

Because the dts demo DVDs are professionally authored. One of us could probably make a decent to good DVD-R but it wouldn't match the quality of one of the offical dts demo DVDs, IMO.

Peace...

Do those demo dts DVDs have only movie clips, or do they have stuff like that "Digital Experience" intro that used to be on dts laserdiscs and DVDs?
