No doubt the DVD will be 1.85:1. But it was made in Super-35 and I hear that initial screenings in the cinema were 2.35:1

I have the original release, but if the extras are well done then I'll pick this one up for sure.

Same here. Considering I bought the barebones one for $4.99 about 3 years ago, I don't mind paying for this spiffy new edition.

I've had the non-anamorphic version in my hand so many times, glad I always put it back.

One of my favorite movies ever, so I have no problem double-dipping. I think the cover looks so much better than the bare-bones release.

This is great news! Very nice extras. Long overdue.

I hope this revenue will get High Anxiety and Robin Hood MIT released, already.

I've come close to buying the original release a few times, but never did, even when I found it cheap, and now there's going to be an SE.

I hope the lame Brook's commentary isn't recycled.

Time to get rid of that non-anamorphic copy!

Thanks manic!

You reminded that earlier in the week I had seen an advertisement in Empire (UK) magazine for a 20th Century Fox box set that was released there on October 25, 2004.

Menu shots from R2 release. It looks like they got an extra commentary.

I might pick this up if indeed the commentary is improved. I was shocked to hear that Mel really isn't much of a speaker, at least when he's talking about Spaceballs.

IGN DVD.com already has a dvd review up at the site. Great improvement over the original print release with some good extras included. Sadly no new audio commentary was done for the film.
