Movies that are being marketed as "scary" when they are comedic

This thread is about movies that are being marketed as very "scary" when in fact they are intended to be comedic/satirical.

One example is Seed of Chucky, the sequel to Bride of Chucky.

Dawn of the Dead (original)- Although it still is scary as hell.

Scream- I don't remember the comedy stressed too much in the trailer.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)- I still maintain that this is a black comedy, even though I've been called sick and deranged for thinking so. Well, maybe there is a little hyperbole there.

Not exactly the topic, but I know Soderbergh's Solaris was marketed as a scary film, when mostly it's a drama.

The Frighteners comes to mind.
Especially with poster art like this.

I don't know I've seen The Frighteners trailer a couple times and it looked like it was marketedas a little of both. The movie was definately both scarey and funny so I guess it delievered.

Wasn't Gremlins supposed to be scarey as well as the Critters movie. Now Critters was funny!

I seen this thread and immediately thought of "The Frighteners" as well.

Just passing the Dead Alive box in the movie rental place would scare the crap out of me when I was younger.

It's funny about this thread, I just finally got to see Dead Alive today and found it funny and gory, but not a horror movie. Watching the only extra on the disc, the trailer, they market it as a hallmark of modern horror.
I think all the nightmare movies past 3 (with maybe the exception of New Nightmare) are just too silly and self-mocking to be of any use.

This is kind of in the same vein: I remember seeing previews for "The Missing" which made it out to be something supernatural and frightening, which it wasn't. At all.
