It'll probably be out just before the second season begins to air, similar to "24" on Fox.

Maybe September/October, possibly August.

An official statement for the show along with Desperate House Wives and official specs for SCRUBS season 1 are to released in the next few weeks. It was reported by IGN DVD.com i think last week or the week before. Already been talked about by the creators is that the show will have a Widescreen presentation (ABC decision to keep it in 4:3 ratio) and possibly uncut episodes as well. But again more to be released in the next few weeks from Disney/Buena Vista Home Video.

Hey CocaCola, keep your eye open over at www.tvshowsondvd.com for any news on "Lost". They update the site every day of the week with news on various TV shows coming to DVD. I'll call this thread up anytime I see some news on "Lost".

Well pretty close to an official release date issued by the producers of the series. Could be a great season set when its released in September

From DVD Exclusive.com

Quote:
J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof, co-creators of the TV series Lost, are considering filming a mini-movie exclusively for the first-season DVD.

Bonus materials would be approximately five minutes long and shed light on why the show's crashed plane went down.

"We'd love to have something [only] people who get a DVD can see," Lindelof said. "It's just a matter of getting the actors and getting the money and finding the time." Buena Vista will release the DVD set in September, about three weeks before Lost's second-season premiere, he said.

If it comes to fruition, the DVD-exclusive "tease" won't be a first for Abrams, who did an exclusive animated short for the Alias third-season DVDs to whet appetites for the fourth-season premiere. The strategy of using DVDs to increase buzz for TV airings is becoming increasingly common--Fox put a 10-minute tease on the third-season set of 24 last fall.

According to Lindelof, confirmed extras on the Lost set will include deleted scenes, lots of commentaries, and a documentary about the plane that the production team located in the Mojave Desert, sliced into pieces and barged to Hawaii to serve as the show's backdrop. "And I personally had a video camera and was sort of documenting the making of the pilot, and I think we're going to do a thing with that," he said.

...How? There isn't enough overall story to indicate a decline in quality. Acting is still solid...

That is early, still looks pretty "digital" too. Like a prototype. I don't like the icy, metallic color scheme too much, but whatever.

I love the show and don't have HDTV, so I can't wait to see it in anamorphic widescreen.

Same with me. I watched the first episode then missed a couple and didn't want to watch the rest of the season without seeing the previous episodes. I can't wait to see it all.

I'm in that camp, too. I watched the first four shows because it was a J.J. Abrams show and quickly realized that this is a show that I want to see. I then stopped watching and decided to wait for DVD because I'm the most impatient person and didn't want to wait weeks between shows only to watch the crappy cable versions.

I'm eagerly waiting for the DVDs.
