Favorite End-Credit Song..........
I just watched the Bourne Identity and was reminded when the end-credit song came on, how much I often enjoy these. The end-credit song probably have a 'proper' name, but I can't come up with it right now. It is basically the song that is being played when the end-credits comes on at the end of a movie.
I can think of 3 movies where the end-song have made me sit through the credits; Bourne Identity/Bourne Supremacy both features Moby's Extreme Ways which after you have sat through the movie is just the perfect ending. Another one is Sexy Beast which have the old Dean Martin number Sway. A number I hadn't heard for years but was completely....well.... swayed by when I heard it after watching the movie..... So what do you think? Do you have a special place for end-credit song? What's ya favorite? and Why?

Wes Anderson's Rushmore, Royal Tennenbaums, and Life Aquatic all had great end-credits songs that made me sit there... Life Aquatic's "Queen Bitch" remake was especially entertaining for me. And who can forget Top Gun's "Mighty Wings"?? |

The first one that came to mind was the Guns and Roses remake of Sympathy For The Devil during the end credits of Interview With The Vampire. The song fit, would have been better if it was the original Stones version, but memorable for the film nonetheless.

I also love Lyle Lovett's version of "Moritat" from Quiz Show. Back when I used to work at a movie theater, I'd always like cleaning this theater just to hear the song.

May It Be from Fellowship of the Ring, Gollum's Song from The Two Towers and Into the West from Return of the King. I love those songs.
I'm sure there are others I've liked, but those are the three that came to mind first. |

"Minstrel Boy" in Black Hawk Down- Reading the casualty list with that song playing...it's very moving, at least to me.

One of my favorites is "Never Say Goodbye" by Helen Reddy. It plays at the end of Continental Divide, a John Belushi/Blair Brown film from 1980.
This movie and song is very special for my fiance and myself. For anyone who hasn't seen it, give it a try. It's available on Dvd and can usually be found for less than $7 |

I thought the ending credits of Requiem for a Dream were amazing precisely because there was no song. It was just the wind and it was beautiful and allowed you to reflect.
As for actual songs, I will reiterate Fight Club and add Buffalo '66 onto the list with Sweetness by Yes. Great song and fits the movie so well. |

One of my favorites is one of the first ones I can recall sitting through the end credits enjoying the song, which was in Karate Kid II, with Glory of Love by Peter Cetera. Until then, most soundtracks bored the hell out of me when watching end credits.

I also dig... Shrek - Stay Home by Self (just a happy go lucky song that fits perfectly at the end of the song). Finding Nemo - Beyond The Sea by Robie Williams (Classy old school song). Fright Night - Fright Night by J.Geils Band (nothing like a self titled song explaining the plot of the movie).

Has to be The Pixies Where is my mind? at the end of Fight Club.
But I'll give an honourable mention to Jane Siberry's It can't rain all the time at the end of the Crow as it seemed Uber appropriate after the heavy-bass soundtrack and is a perfect theme song for the weather here in Vancouver.

I don't know the name of the song, but I also don't know if it counts because there is still video to see at the end of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" - but the song was pretty catchy for its day.
I also enjoyed the music that played with the credits of the Mummy. Wake up by Rage Against the Machine at the end of the Matrix, as has been already stated, was awesome. At the end of Charlie's Angels they play "All the Small Things" by Blink182 which was quite fitting. |

Sting's "Shape Of My Heart" at the end of Léon. Yeah, I know he's now a corporate whore but it fitted perfectly.
I'll second the ELO tune from Boogie Nights

The Matrix Reloaded (first song) Daredevil (first and third songs) Ferris Bueller's Day Off - Oh Yeah by Yellow (?)

I don't think I have ever had this many responses to any of my threads before...........
![]() There is a lot of good ones that have been mentioned. Do you think the movie puts you in a special mood which makes you more receptable (sp?) to certain songs? Or maybe it's just the fact that a movie will bring you into more positive spirit and because of that it is easier for you to like specific songs? I am sure there is a longer medical reason behind, but I still remember when I wathed Bourne Supremacy in the theaters and walked home afterwards with that Moby tune in my head....."Extreme ways that that help me, Help me out at night, Extreme places I had gone, But never seen any light"

I worked at a 6 screen theater for over a year, and was subjected to the same end credit songs from the same movies 5-6 times per day for the duration of their running...
The only songs that never got old for me was "Blinded By The Light" at the end of "Blow".

I just watched 21 Grams tonight for the first time and Dave Matthew's "Some Devil" felt pretty good playing in the credits. I get the impression it was "studio added", but you never know... Good choice, anyway.
