Smallville or Roswell, two series I've enjoyed on the WB network.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is a great show that can be rewatched a lot. Probably my favorite TV series I own on DVD.

If I understand that post right, you need to finish your Buffy and Angel collections.

If that is th ecase i would say to go and finish or get closer to finishing your sets. If not i would say Dead Like Me: Season 1 is the show to get. New reduce price came in last month. So it should be under or close to $30

My personal favorite when it comes to TV Box sets/Series is The Shield 1-3. By far the most entertaining and addicting thing there is.

Narrowed the field down to either another Buffy(need seasons 5-7) or Angel(need seasons 3-5) set or season 1 of either Nip/Tuck,Smallville or Roswell

I have to second that Curb your enthusiasm vote. If you like to laugh and laugh hard, if you like to watch how one mans every move turn to hilarious crap get this show. Seaon 3 and the last show of said season is just a riot!

I would also have to recommend -

24 all of 'em
Smallville
Stargate SG-1 (My personal favorites)

Here's another vote to finish off your Buffy and Angel sets. Also, no Whedon fan's collection is finished without the complete series set of Firefly.

Also, The X-Files should be required ownage for anyone with a DVD player and a brain.

I'd also say finish off your sets.
Other alternatives not mentioned yet are Babylon 5 and Highlander if you liked those shows to any degree.

Buffy Season 6 is one thousand miles better than Season 7.

If you decide not to finish off your Angel or Buffy sets I would suggest Mork & Mindy Season One. The jokes hold up very well and this is Robin Williams in top form.

Arrested Development. Great show.
The Young Ones. Classic Brit comedy, buy all the episodes in one set.
The Office. American version sucks in comparison.
Northern Exposure.

Well from what you have listed i would go with Angel Season 5 Sure you skip 2 seasons but Season 5 by far was the series best ever. Puppet Angel

2nd choice would be Buffy Season 5 which was a great season and really took an adult step/direction in the series. But Season 6 does have the Once More With Feeling episode.

Haven't seen the others, but of these two I certainly say Buffy Season Six. Angel Season 5 was great too, especially the humor episodes, but Buffy Season Six amazed me with it's quality.

Yeah, either one of those is a great pick(but I'd still go with Angel ). I don't know why so many people dislike season six of Buffy. Like Moogle, it surprised me with it's quality. I loved it.

Which season of Buffy had the classic "Hush" episode? That was eerily brilliant.

That was season 4, but 6 had the equally brilliant musical episode "Once More With Feeling".

I shall still say Angel Season 5 is the one to get

although Viva La Bam is a funny show too. . . . .Season 2&3 are out Tuesday too So maybe you are better to continue in a series you already have started then to start another unfinished series

After reading this thread, Im beginning to think that maybe, just maybe I should buy the Buffy and Angel Series on DVD. Never seen one episode on TV. So, how many seasons did both shows run for? How many are currently out on DVD?

All the seasons have had series set release. Angel just finished a month or 2 ago at 5 seasons and Buffy ran for 7 seasons. Both are reallya wesome shows, but Buffy might be harder to get into then Angel because it started off a bit campy (well campier then the series goes sometimes) but really hit its strides from 2 - 7. Angel spun off from Buffy after season 3 ended and kept a more adult darker tone then Buffy did fo rthe first season. Great time to pick up both season 1 sets as they run $30 Cnd and about $20 US.

Buy Buffy Season One but wait to judge it until you watch the last episode, "Prophecy Girl". Although the show got MUCH better than that episode, it was a pretty good one overall and rose well above the mostly awful 12 shows before it. If you didn't like even it, I can't see you liking the show.

To the poster who has not seen any of Buffy, you can get the first season at Walmart right now for $14.44. That is a steal.
