Do ANY major stores carry Zero Day?!

I liked Elephant, which was about the same subject matter, but it was very ambiguous. I heard that Zero Day was very good, but the fact that Best Buy and Amazon are charging up the ass for it (25.00) (I can get it for 20 at Target) makes me unsure if it would be a good blind buy. Any suggestions?

Exactly, how does one "charge up the ass" for something?

Nevermind, no need to answer...

Back on topic, I just rented Elephant and Zero Day (added them to my Netflix queue).

Was Elephant better than/worse than/equal to Thirteen?

Peace...

I have never seen Thirteen.

Elephant is really artsy. Van Sant used a lot of extremely long tracking shots of people walking around the school. You see one scene three times from different POVs, and one scene three times, each time it gets longer. The killers do not appear until about 20 minutes into the film, and we are not shown any reason why they do it. The films takes place on THE day of the shooting with some flashbacks. It took me a few times to understand. I liked it.

When you get a chance, see it. Great performances from Evan Rachel Wood and Holly Hunter.

Of course it's not about a massacre.

Zero Day is a very interesting film and I think its director may have great work to come. It does not hold water against such brilliance as Elephant, though.

ZD is a very interesting take on the school shooting phenomenon and a great way to learn how to make a low budget film. I reccomend it.

The director is also a nice and interesting guy, so I'm sure his commentary will reflect that.

I called Blockbuster, Walmart, and Target. None of them have it. Did anyone else have any luck?

I believe Netflix had it in their inventory. I've got some titles stacked right now so I won't get it for a while. It's in "very long wait" status in my queue, so by the time it moves to the top of my queue it will hopefully be readily available.

Peace...

I'm not a member of netflix. I think that I will have to order it online.

I just joined Netflix. I put 25 movies in my queue, including Zero Day, and all of them are in "Now" availibility. I loaded it up with movies that I wanted to see and some Criterions. My Zero Day (along with Duck! and BR) will ship tomorrow.

Bastard... I heard about Netflix doing this. They try to make the service "attractive" to new subscribers, which is why Zero Day is available to you, but not to me.

Enjoy the movie and the service!

Peace...

There is a topic on DVDTalk about their service. One poster said that when they are about to charge him, he cancels, and then then rejoins, so that they will treat him as a new member.
