Pick a movie, decide it's best and worst moments...

It works like this...

Star Wars
Best: Han Solo's attitude.
Worst: "I wanted to go to the tashi station to pick up some power converters."

Top Gun
Best: The music melding with the cool dogfights
Worst: Reminds you of that kid who tried REALLY hard to look as COOL as possible, no matter what.

Raiders of the Lost Ark
Best: Shoot that fucking swordsman!
Worst: God's wrath is avoided by closing your eyes? I'll remember that if the rapture ever comes.

Those are just some popular examples, use any flick you want, or ignore this obvious middle of the night grasp for entertainment.

This is fun. Could potentially go on indefinitely.

Toy Story
Best: YOU...ARE...A...TooYYy-eeee!!!!
Worst: Any time a human moves.

Amadeus
Best: F. Murray Abraham saying anything.
Worst: The entire vaudeville scene. Ouch.

The Matrix Reloaded
Best: I have to give the carrot to the Burly Brawl; I could still watch that repeatedly.
Worst: Morpheus' speech to the crowd still hurts.

Just the most recent movies I've seen. I could probably do this all day.

Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace
Best: Sith "vs" Jedi during the final battles
Worst: The phrase "I sense" being used far to much in the first five minutes. Cringe inducing.

Kill Bill: Parts 1 and 2
Best: The credits rolling at the end

Kill Bill Vol.1
Best: Perfect blending of music and images.
Worst: The black and white section, which Tarantino wanted color.

Kill Bill Vol. 2
Best: Michael Madsen IS Budd.
Wost: Some pacing issues, but very minor.

Well, this may be somewhat inaccurate, but I wanted to be the first to put this down as a 'worst moment' --

Superman
Best - "You, you've got me? Who's got you?" or -- anything with Lex Luthor. Gene Hackman rocks.
Worst - Spoken word segment when Lois is flying with Supes

OK, any part of that movie can be "best" except for the "worst" moment. That's just a slick movie.

Ok I love this movie so here goes..

The Goood, the Bad and the Ugly

The best: When they open the grave of Arch Stanton and all they find is the skeleton.

The worst:
When Tuco takes slow aim at the target and shots it in two before robbing the gun shop owner.

Once Upon a Time in the West

The best: When you find out Henry Fonda is the bad guy. It sets the story for the whole movie and is a real shocker. Oh and of course Claudia Cardinale!

The worst: When Jason Robbards is hanging upside down on the moving train and all of his hair is still pointing straight up toward the sky.

Aww, I feel all warm and fuzzy now. Great scene.

Random flick:
Time Bandits
Best: Minotaur fight with Sean Connery.
Worst: How the movie ends. That always bothered me.

Then I'm sure you'd love to know that the 2-disc soundtrack release by Rhino has not one but FOUR versions: an instrumental version of just Williams' score, the version with Kidder reading the lyrics with the score as in the film, the pop-song version featuring cheesy drum machines and synthesizers behind Kidder's spoken lyrics, and an instrumental of the pop-song version (!?!?!?!?!?!).

Yeah.

I remember you telling me about it, I couldn't find it, and instead of ebay or something easy like that, I up and gave up.

Time to *not* give up -- it's on my list. Even if it does have that suck-y thing on it.

Worst - The little tough guy act David Caruso pulls while looking for Rambo in the woods.

Jaws
Best - Tie - the scene when Brody first sees the shark "were gonna need a bigger boat", or Quint becoming a snack
Worst - showing each other scars, pure filler.

Pulp fiction
Best - TIE - When travolta blows the guys head off in the car, and the trip to Tarantinos home that follows, or the speech by Christopher walken about the "watch"

I gotta disagree with that worst, BigLyle. It's the moment when Quint, Hooper and Brody bond. Plus it leads into the USS Indianapolis monologue. Frankly I've always found the worst moment to be Jaws 4: the Revenge.
Seriously, the cheesiness of how the shark looks with the tank in it's mouth at the end when it slides out of the Orca or when it first jumps up on the stern of the boat earlier and you can see thru the gills and out the other side are both as bad as I consider it getting.

As for good, the whole scene on the beach, ending with the death of Alex Kintner is one of my favorites.

If I wanted to see people bond I would watch Beaches.

I agree with the cheesy shark however. Must have sure looked good in its day.

For it's time the sharks special effects were pretty good. If you ever watch the documentary on the movie they tell about all the problems they had out of Bruce.

I find it amusing that your favourite scene in the entire movie was added in because of the stupid black and white edit. I guess every black and white cloud does have a silver lining.

Again, going with most recently viewed:

Boogie Nights
Best: A toss up between Julianne Moore and Heather Graham playing their respective porn stars.
Worst: Don Cheadle being horribly underused.

A Bug's Life
Best: Animation at its purest, funniest, and...fine, okay, I'll say it...cutest.
Worst: Probably would have to be Randy Newman's credit song; his score is fantastic, and even the music to the song is catchy, but when he starts singing it...oy.

Yeah, I noticed someone listed that as their least favorite part. I actually liked the B&W edit, as I found it more artistic than the full color. Plus, it makes for that sweet transition.

When are we getting the 1&2 re-edited version though?
