In a bout of CONTENDER fever, I've been re-watching all the ROCKYs via that extras-less box set. Anyway, I forget who it was here who was endlessly fascinated by the TALKING ROBOT in ROCKY IV, but how insane IS that????? Not only does the robot Rocky gets for Paulie actually TALK, but it engages in full conversations, seemingly without programming. Did anyone at the time realize just how supernatural this was? It's now almost 20 years since ROCKY IV, and there are still no interactive robots with these human characteristics.

No shit! Paulie is also an asshole. Not only did he steal Rocky's money, but then he moved to Amityville and beat the shit out of his family. What a cock.

After watching the History Channel docs in the Amityville Horror boxset, it would appear that Burt Young's performance in Amityville II was jawdroppingly accurate and well-researched. Outstanding portrayal by Burt.

And I LOVE that Rocky IV robot.
