Just thought I would post this as I haven't seen any reports of it so far. Lion's Gate is releasing a special edition of Swimming with Sharks on the 7th of June (same day as the release of Beyond the Sea). The DVD includes:
-A new 16:9 high def transfer
-New Dolby and DTS 5.1 tracks
-3 Audio Commentary Tracks (1. Writer/Director George Huang - Previously recorded for the UK release, 2. A new track with Kevin Spacey, and 3. A new track with George Huang and Frank Whaley)
-New Making of Documentary
-Featurette about life as a Hollywood assistant with true assistant stories
-Deleted Scenes
-Theatrical Trailer
-Easter Eggs

For fans of the movie, it's a pretty loaded release.

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up. I will definitely be picking this one up. Great movie for anyone who hasn't seen it before. Kevin Spacey plays a REAL *&^#@ in it . . . great stuff!

Oh My!. I never thought in hell this would happen but it is. Thanks for the great news as this film truly deserves a sparkling special edition. One of my favs.

I read about this release in a video trade magazine the other morning. What upset me was the billing only listed Kevin Spacey and Benicio Del-Toro. No listing for Frank Whaley who's really the star of the movie. Benicio was in it for about what, ten or fifteen minutes?
Bizarre.

Cool, this is not the cover I saw in that magazine though. Hopefully that's the right one.

Yes, that's the right cover. The text is, I believe, contained on a plastic slipcover over the keepcase.

Interesting. I'll probably pick this up, but it's a double dip for me. Great movie though so it will hopefully be worth it.
