I just blind-bought 'Schizopolis.' wish me luck.
a Steven Soderbergh movie without Julia Roberts? not even in a cameo? I must be mad.
$70 Canadian (it's an import here, natch) for a film I didn't even bother to rent. so; a> anyone else here buy this and feel free to submit a review. b> what was the most recent (or, if you prefer, most expensive) movie you blind-bought? |

I own it. We had a discussion about it here a while back.
It's an intriguing film, fun to watch and think about, had me laughing quite a bit. I don't know if I would blind-buy it, but since you already did, oh well. By the way, Julia Roberts has been absent from many of Soderbergh's greatest films, including The Limey, Solaris, Out of Sight, Sex, Lies, and Videotape, and of course, Traffic. |

Amazon.ca sells it for $36 Canadian (+taxes and shipping, it would still be under $50). I've also seen it in stores for about $40. Where did you buy it from? |

picked it up at HMV here in Toronto. $59.98 CDN plus 15% tax. (it's $39.99 US in the States)
and, yeah, I was being facetious about Julia. but, honestly, he does tend to rely on his celebrity rolodex a bit too much. did anyone REALLY need the Brad Pitt cameo in 'Full Frontal'? so far, 'The Limey' is my favorite Soderbergh. I don't expect this to hit those heights, but there's always hope. if nothing else, just having it on the shelf should impress the babes that stop by my space-age swinging bachelor pad, no? chix usually judge a guy by how artsy his film library is. I hope. |

okay.
watched it. loved it. glad I bought it. (hey! it's got that girl from 'Seinfeld' in it! the cop who put him on the polygraph to see if he watched 'Melrose Place.') still don't think it's as good as 'The Limey', though. the only real complaint I have is with the music. it just seemed too "wacky." too much 'Slacker', not enough 'Help!' if the music soundtrack had been more sedate (or even silent) it would have had much more authority. but that's a judgment call. heck, maybe he'll even justify it in the commentary track. |

Wow, that is pretty funny that I just blind bought this myself a couple weeks ago and watched it recently. I thought it was a great movie. Hilarious. Kind of Monty Python-esque, but twisted a little more. I certainly see reviewings of this.
