DVD-ROM features.. is this proper?

Hi! I watched the first hour of my new Superman DVD (disc 1 from the box set) and I was reading the back of the snap case where it described the DVD-ROM features ONLY being available on a DVD-ROM in an Intel Windows PC. These features would NOT be available on a Mac (I guess with software like SoftWindows/SoftPC you could access the stuff).

I do NOT have a DVD-ROM so I normally do not pay attention to the DVD-ROM stuff. Having read this info about the Superman DVD-ROM support made me a little concerned because the Windows only support alienates a lot of DVD-ROM users simply because they do NOT run Windows.

Is this a big deal for those with DVD-ROM drives or do all of you have Windows-based HTPCs? What do the Mac and Unix users do, in this case? Do you NOT buy DVDs with Windows only DVD-ROM support or are most, if not all, DVDs w/ DVD-ROM features require Windows?

Peace......

I usually don't care about DVD-Rom features because I find them to be a waste of time. That aside, the question here is whether the DVD software producers are in cahoots with Microsoft to deliberately try to stamp out Macs, and continue their conquest of the world uninhibited. It could also be that more people use Windows-posessed PCs than Macs and Unix and so it's easier and cheaper for the producers of the disc to write software for Windows only. Either way, Mac users will just have to add "no DVD-Rom features" to the long list of reasons they are getting fucked over for not running windows. Damn you Lord Gates!

With the current price of computers, there's no reason not to have a Wintel PC for the DVD-ROM and at least one other computer with OS of choice.

I currently have 2 Wintel computers, but I plan on adding 2 more plus 1 or 2 Linux boxen.

Personally, I can't stand Macs, but that's just my opinion.

Has DVD-Rom EVER become Mac compliant?
I know when discs first started featuring DVD-Rom content it was not compatible with Macintosh. Did that recently change. (On discs OTHER then Superman obviously)
