Eisenstein box; 1924 Thief of Bagdad
I don't mean to start too many topics this evening, but I've got a paycheck burning a hole in my pocket, and I want to buy something nice. I'm looking at the Criterion box set Eisenstein--The Sound Years, which has Alexander Nevsky and Ivan the Terrible, parts 1 and 2. I'm also thinking of Douglas Fairbanks' 1924 version of The Thief of Bagdad (my all-time favorite silent film). But I can't seem to find reviews of either of these on DVD sites on the net. Has anyone purchased either of these discs? What did you think of them?
