Yeah, i have a feeling when a better edition comes around, it won't include the theatrical version, but rather full versions of the three stories like RR said he would put together.

I just wish I knew if the theatrical cut were being included on the forthcoming SE. If it's not, then I'll spring for this release, just because I like the way the stories interconnect in the current version (just like I'll probably hold onto the current Kill Bill DVDs even after the "Whole Bloody Affair" version is eventually released). Those menus are gorgeous.

What music is used under them? I have the soundtrack CD, and there's some great Rodriguez/Debney/Revell music cues.

I might actually pay more for this dvd by buying the US import. I know Buena Vista will distribute the Canadian dvd with french all over the cover & after seeing these picks, the Canadian version ain't welcome in my dvd collection.

As said by others, I'll be picking this up despite rumors of an SE down the line. I loved the movie enough I don't care, plus it might be a different cut, and I would want both anyway. I bought the Kill Bill DVD's, and since there's still nothing, that was obviously a good decision.

I'm a big idiot and didn't see this in theatres, but it's first on my netflix queue. This will probably be a buy soon after I finally see it if anyone else's reviews are true.

I heard/read once that it would. That the new stuff would be added wia seemless braching. That could be wrong though.

Again, I just wish I knew before the single-disc release comes out. If I break down and buy the single-disc, only to find out a month later that the SE will have the theatrical cut as well as the extended stories, I'll be pissed.

I will be waiting for the SE on this one. I saw this movie four times when it was in theaters, so that should tide me over until the special edition comes out. And if it turns out important stuff is lacking in the special edition, then I will double dip. It just doesn't make sense to me to buy something that could very well be useless in a few months.
