Snake, I'm asking myself the same question... I'm not really sure, I think ultimately you should buy DVDs for the movie, not the extras... So perhaps you should rent the movie again and if it's a movie you'd like to own, and you could see yourself watching again and again, then you should pick it up.
Unless, of course, you're wealthy. In which case, buy it, and buy me a copy too. |

I have the superman I only but it is a magnificent disc. The movie has never looked better and the extras are very good value. Not to the level of Toy Stories but still better than the average Warner special edition.
The one thing I dislike is the DVD-18 disc which goes back to the old days of flippers. And the snapper is just a downer for a disc as specially prepared. Warner! Pls do something about this. Its alrite for normal discs to have snapper, but special editions deserve better. Take a look at Fox's X-Men disc or Walkin with Dinosaurs. Classy and cool. |

I rented this one because I was in the same position. I can say now that I am glad I didn't buy it. I really liked the movie as a kid but I can't see myself watching it more than once or twice(for the commentary).
The disc does look and sound fantastic and the supplements are top notch, but I just wouldn't be spinning it enough to justify the purchase. The fact that it's a DVD-18 and in a snapper case made the decision not to buy even easier. However, if you are a big fan of the movies, it's a no brainer: you should buy the disc because of the quality of the transfer, sound and supplements. ------------------ I AM JEFF'S DVD LIST |

I, on the other hand, who normally recommends not buying anything packaged in a snapper and am not a Superman nor comic book fan, am very happy I bought the disc. I hadn't seen it in probably twenty years, but it brought back some wonderful memories, and the movie really holds up well, despite some dated effects.

I bought this one too, knowing I probably would only see it a couple more times in my life. And, maybe in a year or two I may even sell it. But for now, I will get $18 worth of entertainment from it. The screen tests, the documentary and the commentary are very informative and interesting to watch.
I am no Superman fan, but did like the movie the couple times I saw it (I liked S2 as much) and though I am trying to save the money for the "must have" DVDs, I couldn't pass it up at $16.99 from Sam's Club. |
