Fantastic 4

From Davis DVD:

Quote:
Director Tim Story cut his comic book movie Fantastic Four down to a fast-paced 105 minutes for its theatrical release, but he has proposed an extended cut of the movie for its DVD release. "I feel like now people have seen the kind of fast-paced 'get in and out' version," Story said. "We?re talking [about] only a handful of scenes that I might put back into the movie just to allow the movie to breathe a little bit." Story also said that he has saved a few visual effects for his extended cut. "There are a couple of things with special effects in them that we actually finished up and then [will] put into the movie." To complement or offer an alternative to the extended cut, Story also has plans for the standard array of DVD extras. "There are going to be a lot of deleted scenes and commentaries, and we're going to have a lot of special effects features." Thanks to Home Media Retailing

I saw this in the theaters with the free ticket from the Man on Fire SE, and I thought the movie was decent. It felt a bit like the first X-Men movie, where the first half of the movie is spent on telling their background story and how they get their powers, and then the 2nd half dealing with crises and bad guys.

Fox being the double-dip slut studio it is, I will be looking closely at what bonus features are available with this director's cut version before spending any money on this.

That version was more entertaining. The took one of the best comics IMO and sh*t all over it!

screw any comic book fan who didn't like this film.

seriously.

If you truly liked comic books, you'd be happy as shit to get this good of movie made.
Anyone requiring FF to be as good as Spider-Man and X-men is just spoiled and unrealistic.

My entire group of friends, my wife, and son are looking forward to this DVD release, and will consider it a great addition to the superhero movie library.

Additional scenes would likely benefit the movie.
Too bad they couldn't make Doc Doom as good of villain as Magneto. They whiffed on that opportunity, which is a shame.

I guess then it's OK that the "Star Wars" prequels sucked, because it was unrealistic of me, as a fan of "Star Wars", to expect them to be any good.

You've shown me the light... it's clearly not "Phantom Menace" that sucked, it was a spoiled audience that should never have gone in wanting a good movie. Shame on them. Shame.

OK, I'll bite.

What does Star Wars (1977) and it's prequels have to do with the FF and recent superhero movies?
