What Are Your Loved Ones Favorite Films?

We tend to always talk about our faves, but what films do your spouse/significant other, parents love? Let's see if we can get 5.

My wife, Dilma ( ) loves:

Places In The Heart
Somewhere In Time
Tremors
Out Of Africa
Dances With Wolves

I know tom's mom has good taste.

My wife's favorite film of all time is Indiana Jones and the Raiders Of The Lost Ark. It was what inspired her to get a degree in anthropology (she minored in archeology).

Hmm, not completely sure what my husband's top 5 would be. (He's asleep and in WI at the moment, so I can't ask him yet. I'll ask him when I can and if I remember.)

Probably:

LOTR trilogy
O Brother Where Art Thou
Forrest Gump
Bourne Identity
Bourne Supremacy

I'll edit this if I'm wrong on any of them.

My mom's would more than likely ("more 'n likely") be:

Meet Me in St. Louis
LOTR trilogy
Under the Tuscan Sun
Diary of a Mad Black Woman
Little Women (the one with Liz Taylor)

My wife also wanted to add Forrest Gump. Thanks for keeping the thread going.

Well, if my mom counts as a "loved one" (I thought you meant S.O.s) then I can list some of her favorites:
  • Jackie Brown
  • Anything by David Lynch
  • Bourne Identity/Supremacy
  • The Grudge
  • The Ring
  • Delores Claiborne
  • Boogeyman
  • Manhunter
  • Anything with Sean Penn
  • Anything with Michael Douglas in a serious role
I'll post more if I think of any.

Peace...

My mom is the only one I know that has a definate favorite movie only because whenever it came on tv she would make sure she'd be watching it. That of course made me and my sister either gag or gag and goto our rooms. The Sound of Music was always her movie of choice. I did get her to really enjoy Saving Private Ryan and Titanic when they came out on video. She's not a big videophile so I got them all for her on VHS.

My wife likes most of what I like, saving "gory" films like Glory, Saving Private Ryan, Pearl Harbor, etc (mainly war films). However, she does like certain "chick flicks" that I can only stomach, or despise altogether, including:

The Four Seasons
Steel Magnolias
Legally Blonde
Shirley Valentine
Pretty Woman
The Sandra Bullock ouvre

I'm turning 19 soon, so I guess its not so pathetic I'm still living at home.

If you look in my collection, any C movie, chick flick, foolscreen title, or hillary duff crap belongs to family members, and are therefore their "favorite" titles. (Theres about 15-20, when I move out on my own I'll take them out of "my" list.)
