Hardest dvds to rent on Netflix

I will be switching to Netflix in a couple of months. And I've heard people say they've had a certain movie on their queue in "long wait" or forever until they decided to cancel it. I just thought I would use my 2 week free trial and put these hard to get dvds at the top and see if I could get them that way.
So list the hardest dvds to get.

There was an article somewhere on Netflix's rental "policy" where new members get a slightly higher priority on some items.

It really depends on which titles you're interested in renting.

Peace...

When I was a member, the hardest discs to get were things like music concert DVDs, anime titles, documentaries, and some foreign films that I imagine they had a very limited stock of copies. Some of these took over a year of waiting before I finally got them. Some were never in stock at all.

i think i've only had one or two be bumped in my queue, i know I had one that was on very long wait for a real long time, but when it got to the top i got it in the mail. I usually get mainstream stuff from them, and have noticed a few titles go from in stock to SAVED, when titles go out of print.

yeah, this is why I'm going to try and put the hard to get dvds near the top.

I plan on renting all kinds of stuff. But I was just wondering what Criterions or documentaries were the hardest to get. And anything else really.

I've got a touch less than 500 titles in my queue and 98% are available right now.

You can't predict if Criterions will be problematic or not.

How about this, post the titles of 10 movies you would want to rent here and we can tell you which are available now or not. That would give you an idea of what you could rent today if you were a member.

Peace...

Do you live in a house or an apt? If a house, why not cut a mail slot in your door so your mail goes directly into your house? Or are people breaking into your house to steal your mail?

Peace...

The only problems I have is when I queue something up right before it realeses and when it does they are scrambling to send out every copy they have. Happened with Band of Brothers also because I don't think they bought many disks of that boxset.

Salo

just kidding, I'm not really talking about a specific movie. I was just wondering if there were a few that were widely know to be hard to get. And I was going to take advantage of my new status and try to get those.

Seriously, if mail theft is a problem for you, Dilmo, can you get a PO box at your local post office?

Peace...

With gas prices the way they are, the post office is 30 miles round trip. We used to do that.

Hey Dilmo hows about schedule trips to the post office say monday and thursday durring your routine outings or whatever days work for you

you know when you gotta make a run for supplies hit the post office

just trying to come up with an idea

that freakin sucks when you can't get your mail

Of course I'de hook up a camera or something and when I found out who is taking the mail , no matter how long it took [weeks months] well lets just say we would settle it man to man . Or go to jail trying

Stealing mail is a Federal offense as far as I know and up here we have more postal inspectors than you can shake a stick at

Actually I saw one bust a letter carrier for being drunk on the job [driving his mail truck] and he put the county cop in his place at the same time

just try'n to help

The movie that I am most upset about not being able to get is The Killing of a Chinese Bookie. I really want to see this movie-because if I like it, then I will purchase the Cassavetes box set. But for some reason, Netflix doesn't have it available. I really, really liked A Woman Under the Influence and want to see more Cassavetes movies. But, I guess it is saving me a hundred bucks.

Why not get a mailbox "safe" or "dropbox" that when your mail is put inside only you with the key can get it out ? No one can then pull your mail out without taking the whole box with them or smashing the box.

The whole road would have to invest over $1000.00 to have it installed, plus you couldn't mail out. I have tried all avenues.

If it makes ya feel any better, someone stole my contacts that I had delivered to my door in my apartment building. I mean I could see why someone would steal a dvd but come on the box said costal contacts all over the place on it. I hope they got good use out of them I just think people generally suck nowadays.

Since it is a federal offense, it's not your friendly local sheriff's bailiwick anyway. Get in touch with the Postal Inspection Service. It's their beat.

If you lived in Arizona, you could look up one of Wyatt Earp's decendents and let them deal with it.

I can't even mail things out! This situation is so ridiculous, you have no idea. I'm still working on a petition to get them moved closer, but I doubt it will do any good.

I would think they would be obligated, or at least favor what you want because you are having stuff stolen from you.

This is strange, but the only title that I've ever had to wait a long time
for is THE PACIFIER???? It was on my queue for a full 2 months with the
"very long wait" status constantly posted. I never did get to see it.
Unfortunately I had to drop Netflix because of my new job.

Sorry to hear about your mail problems, Dilmo.

i'd set up a camera and record them stealing.

then i'd take a cd or dvd and put the video file on it and write on the disc "guess who got caught stealing? watch this video to find out" and then i'd take an old netflix package and keep shipping it to myself until they steal it. i doubt the theif will notice the stamp on it which usually is not there.

then make them pay you large amounts of money else you'll go to the police and fbi and also sue. get netflix in on the lawsuit too since it was their property that was stolen.

Get this. Okay, there are about 7 mailboxes lined up on this rural road. I found out today that another person made a personal arrangement with the carrier to padlock their box after delivery. I'm the one doing all the reporting and such, and I find this out today. I called the postmaster, and said "What a great idea!". Got a call back later that this will not happen again. Now I have a distant neighbor pissed. Fuck that. Like sands through the hour glass, so are the days of our lives.
