sick, sick, sick, and sick

It is sick, sick, sick, sick, that the Mummy Returns did so well this past weekend. It is even more disturbing to me that it beat out Star Wars Episode One for the biggest non-holiday take. I waited in line for 17 hours for TPM as did many, many other thousands of fans. I'm not really sure I understand how this happened or why? Am I the only one who saw this trailer and wanted to puke? Saw the "big" names starring in this movie and wanted to laugh? Am I the only one crying now?

The fact that it also took the biggest Saturday, and Sunday takes only adds salt to the wounds. I don't know what sort of world that we live in that anyone, let alone a million anyones, wants to see a movie that in my opinion is some of the cheapest examples of trash cinema in the last several years.

All I can say is that I hope Pearl Harbor bombs the shit out of the Mummy, literally. Please, please, please let Episode 2 take back the crown a year from now.

Then again, I haven't seen the flick. I hope to God I never do!

Are you upset because it eclipsed "Episode I", or that you are convinced "Mummy Returns" is a bad film and everybody that bought tickets this past weekend are just passive ticket buyers?

Just trying to understand what you mean. Sorry that you're so sick.

Tyler, I hope you didn't toss a spoiler into the mix.

All the fans flocked to it opening weekend. You have to admit there's really no other movie out there worth seeing right now, except for some lame ones that show up in theaters for a week. It will probably gross about 200 million, and then dissapear by the end of June.

I really enjoyed this one. I am sory you are disapointed in the results. I will say this however...Ep 1 was a mild disapointment for me. and I had lots of fun with this one. Something to think about.

And this belongs in the Now Playing Forum...

Moving there now...
