audio distortion on sin city DTS, anyone nnotice

I would have posted this in glich area, but that seems rather dead. When I was watching it tonight, I noticed that in my center speaker when voices were talking, some rather annoying high pitched distortion. I tried several disks and nothing else seemed to have a problem. Anyone else experience anything?

I've read about this problem many times, but I gotta say after watching the film with it's DTS track within th last 24 hours it worked perfectly!

It's there. I heard it in serveral spots when I watched my version the other night.

I don't know if it was recorded like that or if it is an error in authoring, but I heard the same distortion in the comic-con footage that hit the web about a year ago.

Please post some chapters where you know it is audible so we can all check out the same parts of the movie.

I believe I've heard some as well but I would need to watch it again to record chapters where I heard it.

Peace...

That might be because people aren't experiencing many glitches with new DVDs.

Off the top of my head I know I heard it in the opening scene with Josh Hartnett. The same distortion on that scene was in the comic-con footage.

There were others as well, but I don't remember exactly the scene's.

Ok, then we can at least start with this scene. As people listen to this scene, please post the following:
  • Audio track (DD/dts/both)
  • Volume level
  • A/V receiver and speaker make/model
This way, we can gather some useful info on who is heaing what and on what kind of gear.

Peace...

I've watched mine a couple of times. I hope never to hear whatever distortion exists. I'm sure as soon as I notice it, I won't be able to stop noticing. For now, sounds great.

Ok, I listened to the DD audio last night and definitely heard a "hiss" during the dialog between Josh Hartnett and that chick.

My info:
  • Audio track (DD/dts/both): DD
  • Volume level: -20db (about 50db, I reckon)
  • A/V receiver and speaker make/model: Pioneer Elite VSX-24TX A/V receiver, Pioneer Elite TZ-F700 front mains, Pioneer Elite TZ-C700 center channel, ancient Infinity surrounds (model unknown)
I listened to both the DD and dts audio tracks this morning and the dts audio has less "hiss" than the DD audio but it's definitely still there. I heard the "hiss" only while there was actual talking going on.

Peace...

I found the same thing, I've seen these rumors all over the place, but I didn't notice that at all.

Chalk another one up for the distortion
I wanted to also post that I definitly heard the hissing during a good portion of the speaking parts of the movie. I rented the movie from blockbuster, I wanted to wait until the better version arrives before purchasing. Anyways just thought I'd chime in.

So, why is it that some of us hear something in the audio and others don't????

Peace...

Maybe.. Just maybe, I dunno.. the problem lies with what kind (make/model) receiver you are using. I have no problems with my AVR 225 HK. The reason I suggest this is because certain dvd players are known for video problems while on other players the disc(s) will play normally. I'll just throw out an example. My Panasonic has problems pausing & searching All InfiniFilm dvds, yet the other 5 players I tried out that are not Panny's play those discs fine.

Got to agree with Derb. I have even centalized the dialogue in that scene, and ... nothing.
