Simpsons Season 6 & Star Wars

Okay, sorry if these questions have been asked before. I got some Best Buy gift certificates for Christmas this evening and want to weigh my options before taking the plunge on either of the following...

1. Simpsons Season 6...got Season 5 as a gift and obviously want to keep going (nothing like a Simpsons DVD marathon, is there?). My question concerns the unsightly Homer head box...I had heard that you can order a replacement box that fits in better with the other season sets. I know this was released a while back, so wondering if this option is still available? Or have they released the regular box yet...I see Season 7 is back to the regular format. In terms of enjoyment of the show, this really shouldn't matter. However, I'm pretty anal and this inconsistency throws my whole universe into chaos. Plus I don't think the Homer head box will even fit in my narrow shelves. And is the replacement box an actual box like the others or a piece of crap that isn't worth the trouble?

2. I haven't been able to pick up the original Star Wars trilogy yet. This will most likely change on the 26th. But I see there is a "new" box set released with the different, classic artwork. Is that the only difference between this and the previously released version, or what is the difference? Are they both still available for purchase? Both in Widescreen? Which version should I get?

Thanks for any help...I'm new here (well, new in that I have only posted 1-2 times in 2 years) and again apologize if any of this has already been discussed (and too tired to search)....

Matt

I bought mine when it first came out, but I just filled out the online form and got a confirmation email. I'm assuming that this means that it's still a go. Check it out.

Get the older version (available in widescreen). It has a disc of bonus features that the new one doesn't have.

1. The option to order the regular style packaging is still available. But actually the Homer head isn't any taller than the other cases, and lines up fairly well.

2. The new Star Wars set is just the 3 movies with limited artwork. It's the same versions, only without the bonus disc from the previous set. The new set is a complete rip off, get the original set.

i dont know if you have gone out to get them yet, but as far as i can recall walmart had the star wars boxset reduced for a pretty good price so you might want to check there, though with christmas and all its probably pretty picked over

Thanks for the link, El Lancito.

I stopped at season 5 because of that stupid fucking Homer head and
no alternative to get a matching box when the set was first released.
Obviously there were enough complaints and/ or reduced sales to get
FOX to print a matching box for season 6, and also to offer a matching
box or a Marge head for season 7. Now I will continue my collection
through season #7.

Well, I got both Star Wars and Simpsons Season 6....I sent my $2.95 check in yesterday along with the receipt, so hopefully 4-6 weeks I'll have my box. I checked "anal-rententive" as the reason on the website. : )

Anyone out there have the replacement box...how is it?
