What do I do...

Even though this envolves the Simpsons dvd, it's more of a general topic/subject that's why i posted it here...

I received the 7th season of the Simpsons as a gift, which is great, however on the side of the box it's written in big "The Simpsons" & also next to it also in big "Les Simpson". So it's like 2 huge titles one in english and one in french. It's kind of annoying, why do they keep doing this to dvds! Do you think it would be too anal of me to ask for the receipt in order to try to replace with a copy with only an english title (like the 3 other Simpsons dvds that I have), or should I just not make a big deal out of it and open/keep it? What would you do? I doubt I'll find it a totally english box in canadian stores, I'd have to order it from the usa. Ugh I think I might just keep it, it's a gift and I should not finding faults in it...

Do you live in Canada?? If yes then the frenchie stuff should be the norm by now.

If you live in the US I wouldn't give 2 shits. Does the french words on the outside effect the quality of the product inside the packaging?

Also this is a matter of personal preference. Sounds like you're asking for the popular thing to do.

I opened it and it was actually a cardboard cover OVER the box, so I can throw it away and I'd still have the original english box under it So it's great!

HOWEVER, what is fox thinking!!! I almost broke the disks by trying to getting them out, they are too tight. In fact there's one disc that I have not took out yet because I can't, it would be broken it's like bented at this point. Ugh!

I had the same issue with Back to the Future. I bought it online from a Canadian firm and the set came with packaging printed with both English and French lettering. I prefer the English only but it isn't a big enough deal for me to replace the set (and I'm too cheap to buy some of those cool customized packages available at some sites). I have a DVD jukebox player that holds 300 DVD's, so nobody but me knows about the packaging issue unless they start looking through my garage.

That sounds too cool. Does it mean that you can choose in the jukebox what dvd you want, and it gives you the dvd you asked for so you can put it in your dvd player? or does it actually play dvds and has a screen? Do you have a picture of a similar jukebox? Sorry I've never heard about dvd jukebox, just cd/music ones...

I believe his jukebox player is a fairly standard carousel that holds several hundred DVDs vertically instead of laying one flat in a tray. This carousel spins around to play any one of the 300 or so DVDs. Usually, you can either enter titles in to appear on the display or keep a log of what number on the carousel refers to what DVD. If you have fewer than 300 DVDs, it can be a great way to watch them without having to pull them out all the time.
