Dances With Wolves Questions

There seem to be two versions of this thing floating around. One is a single-disc with running commentary, and the other is a 2-disc DTS version, also with commentary. However, since its OOP, I can't seem to find any info on it.

My questions:

1. What is on the second disc in the DTS set? Is it full of extras, or a different version of the movie or ??

2. I do not have a DTS system. Does the DTS set also include a Dolby 5.1 option, or is it DTS only?

Many thanks.

Salsa shark. We're gonna need a bigger boat. Man goes into cage, cage goes into salsa, shark's in the salsa.
Check out my collection.

The two versions are identical except in the three following areas:

1. The packaging.
2. Audio tracks.
3. Number of discs.

Put another way, except for the DTS track and being on two discs, the two versions are exactly alike in terms of extras.

No, it only has a Dolby Surround track if you can't play the DTS version.

Also, the reason the DTS version is on two discs is because given the length of the movie, the lower compression rate used on the video (meaning the video takes up more space than usual-which should mean the picture looks better, but it's not really noticeable), and the DTS audio (which also takes up more space than a DD audio track-which should also result in a better audio experience) all add up to more information than could fit on a DVD 9.

In short, unless you are a die hard DTS fan, I can't recommend buying the DTS version. Not only is it OOP and more expensive if you can find it, but you also have to change discs partway through the movie.

Get the DD version and enjoy the movie.
