Date Movie.

2.7 on IMDB. 8% on RottenTomatoes.

Why do I enjoy this movie? Sure, some parts drag (like the Kill Bill goofs), but I find some parts of this movie hilarious (especially the first 30min) while others are not finding it funny at all. WTF is wrong with me? Must be my appreciation for bad movies.

Maybe it's because you're ruined.

Seriously though, more power to you if you like it. There's more than one crappy movie I just love. Half Baked for instance.

I love stupid pointless movies and this one is probably one of the dumbest. Agreed that the Kill Bill an Stars Wars stuff was utter crap but the rest of the movie was enjoyable crap.
Alyson Hannigan is a terrible actress but she's incredibly hot so she's always worth watching.

I saw it over the weekend and thought it was better than all of the Scary Movies and other spoof movies. It comes a bit close in tone to that Not Another Teen Movie spoof.

I thought Alyson Hannigan was great, and thought most of the spoofs were pretty good. Love the Lord of the Rings one with Tom Lenk, another ex-Buffy alum and friend of Alyson. Jennifer Coolidge was great as the Streisand role as Fockyerdoder's mother.

Well, I haven't seen the Scary Movie 4, which I admit the trailers had some pretty funny jokes in it. But Scary Movies 2 & 3 were pretty abysmally bad.

In Date Movie, I loved the Mr. & Mrs. Smith spoof a lot. I liked that Darth Vader Revenge of the Sith spoof, too, and maybe it was just me, but I really enjoyed that opening dance sequence. It felt very Napoleon Dynamite-ish, who they also spoofed.

The humor just worked for me in Date Movie. Only the first Scary Movie had a few good moments in it, and I'll withhold judgment on the 4th one until I see it. But if the trailer had all the best jokes, then that's not a good sign.

Maybe it was the type of humor for me. When Scary Movie was taken out of the Waynes brothers hands for 3 i actually enjoyed the movie more. I felt the first two relied too heavily on being perverted and on sex to try to be funny. I usually dont find stuff like that as funny. I prefer...what can i say...corny bad jokes. I felt SM3 and 4 had more of that...Date movie was too reminiscent of the early SM movies for me.
