Movies influenced by Ransom (*** possible spoiler alert ***)

Please be forewarned, this thread might contain spoilers.

I watched the movie
Spoiler (Highlight or Triple Click to Read):
Firewall
which was recently released on DVD over the weekend. I enjoyed it but I was amazed at how much it was influenced by Ransom. It was almost like an iteration of Ransom with
Spoiler (Highlight or Triple Click to Read):
Harrison Ford
instead of Mel Gibson.

So, I was curious to see how many other movies you can come up with that were influenced by Ransom.

Peace...

Hostage the Bruce Willis film sort of goes along this line too. Its been a while since I've seen it but hostage and Firewall seemed pretty similar to me, a little moreso than maybe Firewall and Ransom.

I think any movie with a desperate main character with feelings of guilt and nothing to loose will resemble something before it. I liked Ransom more than Firewall because of the Gary Sinise and Donnie Wahlberg characters. The only Firewall character that stood out for me was Harrisons I don't even remember who played the bad guy. Thats sad cause I'm usually pretty good with that sorta stuff.

I loved the Gary Sinise/Mel Gibson exchange when the gun was fired.

That would be Paul Bettany, who I thought was one of the better parts of that movie! Ford was steady, as always, but Bettany has been getting really good, IMHO.
