Ehh, this is one of those movies that I've wanted to like every time I've seen it, but the pacing is just too dang slow for me to get into it. Strange, as I thought this was the movie that would make Timothy Hutton a superstar, and was wondering if those guys Penn and Cruise would amount to anything. That shows what little I know.

Double Sweet! Just as long as thats not the cover.
Oh oops just saw Dolby Surround 4.0. Sorry no sale here. If they can get it to 4 they can get it to 5.1 even if it really isn't all that 5.1ish.

The 2.20:1 aspect ratio I find curious. I remember seeing this film theatrically more than once and being very impressed with it, but I don't recall there being any 70mm prints of it (I would have remembered). IMDB lists its aspect ratio as 1.85:1. So I'm wondering about the video transfer.
I'm not too keen on the new cover art, either. But I do like the fact that this film has gotten such a release. Just wish it was a little less ostentatious and gimmicky. |
