Query for genuinely hardcore Planet of the Apes (films on dvd) lovers
Can any hardcore / advanced POTA fans please creatively and wittily describe :
1) The ape costume and character you'd create for a new Planet of the Apes film. It doesn't have to have anything to do with any original POTA film ape character/s (which were largely modelled on Greek and Roman costumes and name),but it can if anyone wants. 2) Which planet/s (real or any fictional ones featured in any favorite sci fi film/s) would you most like to accidentally land on AND WHY ? Doesn't have to be one in the Apes mythos. |

I definitely would be "Disco Ape". "Macking all the ladies." The outfit would be loosly based on Luis Guzman's wardrobe from Boogie Nights. I would be the ultimate Ape lover and dancer, and whenever they played Disco Inferno I would smack my chest and boogie the night away.
I would land on the Moon, because it is my favourite planet. ![]() |

A musical version of "Planet Of The Xanapes" is the natural progression in this long running series. The "new" ape would be "Kira-Ape" dressed in a flowing white peasant dress with leg-warmers and roller-skates performing a new take on "Xanadu" (thus fitting in with the original "Greek" costume feel as Kira was supposedly Terpsichore, one of the nine muses & daughter of Zeus.
Of course, at the end of the film, when "Kira-Ape" hits the high notes of "Xanadu" she rises from earth to return to her home planet of Mt Helicon (which amazingly is my favourite planet too, 'cause that's where all the other muses live) Quote:
