dogma se

just a quick thought: those of you who mob around the net searching for all info on everything, have probably found the dogma eggs that show various "toy-acted" skits, or whatever. accessed by using 3,3 / 2,4 respectively. MY question is, being a movie with such overtones, could there be an additional clip using 1,5 or viceversa? thus completing the trifecta that would cast some more "evil" into the mix. just a thought, though it may be moot if people decode dvd or something to identify the eggs rather than just "finding" them, as in that case, the ones that exist are the ones already noted.

Kevin Smith's Best film is hands down one of the years best DVDs. All of his DVDs are incredible, I wish Depalma's films got that kind of treatment.

I was watching the deleted scenes on disc 2, and in one of their introductions, they mention an animatic of a cartoon cereal commercial that they had planned, and that it was on the DVD. I looked around, on both discs, but could not find anything of the sort. And no easter egg sites that I have seen mention anything of it. OOOh, I hope that they did in fact include this animatic. It sounds great from their description.

I was curious about the amination too.

I got my hopes up about the "Hosties" animatic too, but it turns out that the animatic, along with the documentary, had to be left off the DVD at the request of Disney/Miramax. All mentions of Disney/Miramax and their "officers" were also deleted from the disc ("BOOP"ed out of the commentary tracks). And, something I thought was hilariously weird, in one of the intros in the deleted scenes, Kevin is holding his daughter and there's a blur over the front of her clothing, obscuring a Disney character.

Isn't the world a fun place when the lawyers are in charge?

That's not a Disney character. They did a poor job of blurring it and so it's easy to recognize as the Superman symbol.

Crazy Disney corporation, and :some: catholics...
I think it is crazy that people can't express their opinion through media about things like religion, and (more understandably) other companies. People express their opinions about stuff all the time, but as soon as that opinion is accessable to a large audience, it is prohibited?

Oh well, I am sure Kevin Smith will find a way to show everyone the In Defence of Dogma documentary, and hopefully, the cereal animatic (I was so excited to hear them mention it being on the dvd during that scene intro).

I hate how other people's own ideas and opinions hold other's ideas and opinions back.
Oh well. I am sorry if anyone was offended by anything said in this post. 75% of the time I'm talking, I'm talking out of my ass. And my opinions mean squat anyhow, so please don't take them too literally.

I just always hate it when someone is offended by something that they don't have to buy in the first place. Disney always seems to mess with their own stuff to please a small number of people. If editing out something in one of their films (whether it be a new feature film, or one of their cartoons that has been around since the 40's) will get them a few more customers, they'll do it. The publics opinion, is their opinion. I don't know who is the bigger tool, Di$ney, or their consumers.

On a lighter note, I just bought the Toy Story Ultimate Toy Box today, it f*ckin' rocks.

I totally think that the Salma Hayek line in Dogma about Catholics is totally true.

Come on, now. Do you really think that "Dogma" is better than "Chasing Amy"? I mean, that film was just so beautiful and personal, it was a lot funnier, and a lot better technically, too. Not only that, but the DVD was also superior. That commentary is one of the best I've ever heard, and while the deleted scenes in Dogma are interesting, no deleted scene will EVER be as good as the "More Tolerant Age" on the "Amy" DVD. I can't tell you how many times I've had to say something nearly identical to that to people.

Thanx,
Brook

Dogma was a much more complicated film than Amy. Both are great, but I was more impressed with Dogma beacuse it was much more interesting and complex. At least for me it was.
