? Muppet Caper ratio

Somethings wrong. The IMDB lists the film as 2.35, the Maltin Book says Panavision, not panaflex or Panavision lenses, Panavison! 2-freakin-35!

but now the DVD is 1.85! I think I have yet another reason to hate Columbia/tristar, is there someone who can tell me the right ratio for this film, I don't remember it from the big screen, because I was 2 at the time.

Columbia has miss-ratioed before, Murphy's Romance and Abscence of Malice were 2.35ers and they put them on DVD 1.85! is this another case of screwing with the ratio?
I mean, Henson like 2.35 he used it when he directed Labyrinth and Dark Crystal and I'm pretty sure Muppet Caper was 2.35.

Help!

I'm pretty sure 1.85 is right. A)It's a muppet film, it's exactly the type of film that would not be shot in scope, and 2)The other three on DVD are 1.85...I don't think CTHV would screw up all 4...and I'm pretty sure I remember Muppets from Space being 1.85 in the theater.

Panavison doesn't always mean 2.35:1, this is a common misconception, and the IMBD have most likely got it wrong. PHANTASM was shot with Panavision, and that was 4:3, matted down to 1.85:1 for exhibition.

Maybe this site should have a special section about widescreen nonsense, there's loads of it floating about all over the place. A section to explain terminology would be good, and another to shame companies who matte films that are supposed to be in 4:3 just to please the simple few who think that everything's supposed to be in widescreen.

4:3's to start:
PSYCHO (hitchcock)
TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE
NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET
....anybody confirm any others released matted when they're not supposed to be?

Warner's HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL (Vincent price one) is in 2 wrong ratios!
And the first 3 Bond films are matted from 'almost-4:3' to make them fit an anamorhphic format.

I think the ridiculously expensive Clerks DVD was matted to 1.85

The first 3 Bonds were 1.66? weren't they?

I felt that Muppet caper was 2.35 cause I know Henson directed his films that way later on, and it was the only one he really directed.

Does anyone remember it from the theaters or a re-release?

A quick check over at Widescreen Review gives this information:
(Principal Photography): Academy Standard Flat
(Theatrical Aspect Ratio): 1.85:1

the first Bonds were roughly 1.45:1, which is pretty close to 4:3. Despite the matting, they don't seem to suffer for it, but it's still annoying all the same.
