Stephen King's IT

HI

I personally think it is about time PennyWise The clown got a good transfer and is put on DVD. I think IT is a hell of a good movie, and would love to see it released on DVD.

I have yet to hear any rumors or even a maybe,

Have you heard any release dates or talks ???

IT was my all time favorite King book, but I was never too happy with the series. I always thought that it deserved the treatment that "The Shining Got", or more importantly, "The Stand", which IMHO was the best Stephen King movie/miniseries.

I enjoyed the mini-series, but not as much as the book. The end in the book was a bit different and those of you who read it could back me up on this.

About what?

If you're just dumping on Steven King in general, why bother posting to this thread?

Why? It seems OneofRyan has a disposition for bringing negativity into a room without reason. See this thread: http://www.dvdfile.com/interactive/f...ML/003807.html

Oh well. I would love a good ol' DVD of "It". Scared my silly as a youngin'.

Nope. Just offering an opinion. Marq seems to like to attack my opinion, even though I personally could care less.

Well it's just that no one was asking for opinions of King's work. If anything, I would think that this thread would consist of King enthusiasts wanting to know more about his work. Coming in here and stating that you don't like King just seems pointless and only serves to put others down in some way. Like going into a bar and dissing drinking alcohol to everybody there. If you don't like the topic these people are talking about, then don't read it.

I'd love to see IT on DVD. I missed the miniseries and have never seen it and keep hearing raves about it. The book was great and, fortunately, most of the screen adaptations from his novels have been excellent:

The Shining
Stand By Me
The Shawshank Redemption
Carrie
The Green Mile
The Dead Zone
etc.

Seeing Pennywise mentioned in King's latest, Dreamcatcher, reminded me of how good IT is.

Though I don't read or wacth King stuff, my mom is a huge fan and I know that she really liked It a lot too. I think It, Kubrick Shining, and The Stand are her favorite King adaptations.

I couldn't wait for the dvd. I saw IT for sale at Shopko for $6 on VHS and went ahead and bought it. I know I know, I'm ashamed, but hey, it was worth it for Tim Curry's performance.

What about "The Shining" mini-series? I liked it better than the Kubrick retelling. Doesn't have Jack Nicholson, but is much truer to the book.

Seems like when King's books get the mini-series treatment, they stay on track better. Except for Shawshank and Green Mile, which I think are the best King stories on film.
