Planet of the Apes DVD being released too quickly

I checked Video ETA and it said POA (2001) is scheduled for November 27,2001. This is almost a tighter deadline than X-Men! X-Men was a decent DVD, but there was hype for awhile about it being 2-discs and better than Fight Club. Will it be 2-Discs, and if so is it going to have DTS?

Jurassic Park /// is being released December 11th. I can't wait!

I haven't seen Planet of the Apes yet. I love Tim Burton's movies but I haven't been in the biggest hurry to see his latest movie for some reason.

Saw it last night. I thought it was great. Very Burtonish. Dark and moody in some places and the sets are incredible. aka Batman. A typical Burton movie.
Can you say sequel?

Why does Mark W always sound like he's out of breath when he says his lines? Everyone else in the scene is acting normally and he sounds like he just finished a 10 mile run. I don't get it.

They want to get it out quickly to keep the 'buzz' high I guess. Plus it might be a huge holiday title, at least that is what FOX wants.

If this keeps up, why bother going to the movies when they're going to be released on DVD 3 months after they're hit the theaters? Doesn't make any sense..

I don't know if it will be two discs, but according to the interview with David Prior right here on DVDFile, they have been working on this for months now. So, I wouldn't worry about them not having enough time to do it right or anything. Now if they could just get Moulin Rouge out sooner than December I'd be really happy.

If they're gonna release Planet of the Apes this quickly to DVD, they better make it a 2-disc set with alot of extras, because I absolutely love Tim's Burton's reimagining, as well all his other films. It better not be some half-assed job like X-Men was, or I'm really gonna be pissed! My only quibble with this Apes is Marky Mark's performance, which is pretty good, but lacks the ferocity and intensity that Charlton Heston had in the original Apes. And yes, I too noticed that Marky Mark sounds like he's done run a 10 mile marathon whenever he speaks his lines. I hope Jurassic Park III is a good disc, with at least one commentary track. I know exactly what sort of commentaries I want for Planet of the Apes.
1. Commentary with Tim Burton, Mark Wahlberg, and Helena Bonham Carter
2. Commentary with Production Designer Rick Heinrichs, Costume Designer Colleen Atwood, and God of Makeup Rick Baker.
3. Isolated Musical Score with Commentary by Danny Elfman
These are the people I want to hear from.
