Batman 35th Anniversary SE @ Columbia, MO Wal-Mart!!!
Hey gang,
As I strolled through my local Wal-Mart electronics department, I noticed a Fox DVD kiosk with some great deals for $14.99, such as True Lies, X-Men, Predator DTS, Office Space, and (drumroll, please) Batman SE!!! Needless to say, I grabbed it. What's more, I didn't realize that it isn't supposed to street until 8/21. Wal-Mart sure is good at breaking the law! |

Wal Mart lowered their prices quite a bit. I noticed the other day that Antz was only 14.99 compared to the 35.99 price tags I've seen in other stores. Groundhog Day and Jumanji was 9.95 and so were lots of other cool DVD's. Oh and be sure to check out packages like Tremors/The Mummy, Virus/End of Days, and Backdraft/Apollo 13 2 packs. They're 24.95. So basically you get one free.
The places that you are going to find THE best prices are at Wal-Mart and Borders bookstores. Borders are about 5.00 cheaper than anywhere else. [This message has been edited by Pumpkinhead (edited 08-08-2001).] |

i work at a walmart and even though it hurts me, when i see a title put out on the shelves early, rather than picking it up, i have to go to the manager of the electronics dept and tell him to put it back in the back. the store gets fined $13000 for each copy of a movie sold early and that money comes out of the employee's profit sharing bonus cheques. so buy your dvds at walmart early if you must, but know that they are tainted with the tears of a thousand poor slobs who only get a 12 cent profit sharing cheque at the end of the year. enjoy your dirty dvd you cold, cruel man!

ESC. Dude read that post again. I'm thinking, cute joke. If not who levies these fines? Do they also get fined when the titles are put out late? Because that would be a worse crime resulting in lost sales. 13,000 bucks per copy sold.
Walmart is the 3000 pound gorilla of retailing if they want to sell something early nobody says jack. |
