Sisters (Criterion)

I've really been wanting to buy the Criterion DVD for Brian De Palma's SISTERS, and have only now located it in my city.

It's selling for $41.99 Canadian plus tax (making it about $50). I've never seen the film but appreciate most of De Palma's pre-1990s work.

Does anyone have the disc and recommend my paying this price for it? I heard the transfer wasn't spectacular, but it's as good as possible save a complete restoration.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

The picture quality is pretty good. I wasn't sitting there saying "Wow, this is in really bad shape" while watching it.

I've never seen "Sisters" outside of the Criterion disc so I can't say if the colors are off, but they do seem pale, perhaps from the film's age. The blacks aren't as deep as other discs, but again, I think it's from the film's age.

I'm sorry that I'm not more of a guru on this type of thing, but I thought any help would be of use.

I have the "Sisters" disc and I love it. while the audio/video are not top notch, it's certainly worth getting, as the supplements are great, and so's the film!

thanx,
Brook
