express.com - everything's back ordered!

Anybody know why express.com seems to have an awful lot (meaning: most of their stock) of dvds on back order? I've emailed them but they havent responded? Are they going under? Did they give out too many coupons and since coupons are only good on in stock items, they don't want to honor any more, so they pretend most of the hot titles are out of stock? Perhaps that's a bit more like a conspiracy theory. Strike that last comment. Anyone know the scoop? I haven't ordered anything recently, so I haven't been able to experience how long of a delay it is for them to get a DVD in stock. Anyone order thing recently? How'd it go? Thanks.

This has been like that since approximately November or December of last year. Earlier this year they filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. I believe there are more specific details on it if you do a search (I may do one in a few minutes to find them).

express should have said something like were bankrupt and we will never get these titles in stock becasue when this first happened last year i called and asked where my stuff was and they told me they were getting shipments in the next week. they had the cheapest dvds and i ordered all my discs from them. they also shipped very fast and sent tons of free stuff like little planes and i have tons of post it pads from them ...though i guess this is why they went bankrupt
i got a email last week form them saying there trying to clear out what they have in stock still someone bought them and they realize there mistakes and will be back with full stock in 2 months or so

ill give them a shot when they acctually list things in stock casue i waited a month for stuff that never came in last year when it first happened when i think the people that worked there didnt even know what was going on

Man, I never order anything online. Not even from Amazon - that place is pretty pricey sometimes.

I used to order online, when express.com (DVD Express back then)had the best prices (particularly on pre-orders) and selection and almost instantaneous shipping. Guess they didin't make any money.

Express is dead dead deadski.....

sorry thing because they were the greatest. always cheap always promt and never had any problems untill they started to float upside down and stink.

I will never order from them again and yet most of my collection was orriginaly purchased from them.

Express is dead I buried it in my mind months and months ago.

I read on several sites that the once greatest online supplier of DVDs, Express has recently been bought and the new owners are going to get it back to it's original state.
For more information go to, www.videotropic.com and click on to previous news.
Lets hope that the once mighty DVD Express returns from the ashes.
We need all the competition we can get to keep the prices down.

Well almost original state! They'll never have those low prices again!

I suggest we just keep an eye on the site at this stage and don't jump in until we see signs of all new releases coming into stock, on a regular basis.
