LOTR widescreen

Every copy I have seen is in anamorphic wide, but ppl were talking about a P&Scan only release. Obviously I want the widescreem so I am happy, but what is the story?

I'm in California and got mine on Monday via DVDPlanet.com. It's definitely anamorphic widescreen.

There was some kind of miscommunication.

It was originally thought that the movie was being released P&S. I think there was even a petition started over it.

Turns out the studio sent the stores the wrong release information and it is actually 16:9 and OAR.

So go get that puppy!
