Sounds like bunk to me, but anything's possible. For whatever it's worth, there've been worse ideas in Hollywood's history (you know, like EXORCIST II...
).------------------ Ernest Hemingway once wrote, "The world is a fine place and worth fighting for." I agree with the second part... A curious mix of the best and worst in motion picture entertainment--that's right, it's Filmmaker's DVDTracker list! ...and the fun doesn't stop there--check out how the madness all began with Filmmaker's LaserDisc Tracker list! |

Why? The special effects are great, the film is rather timeless...the only thing that's dated is the music.
Then again, why remake Psycho? ------------------ "I always thought two rights made a U-turn." My DVD collection |

I think everything about Poseidon is great. Only the special effects seem dated to me, but I love everything else.
If you had to remake it, I would suggest putting in Kevin Spacey as Rev. Scott. If you wanted to get someone younger, I'd probably go with Johnny Depp or Edward Norton. I'm not an Affleck hater. I enjoyed him in Good Will Hunting, and Kevin Smith seems to have mastered the art of getting a credible performance out of him. But I can't see why every movie has to have him in it. I for one, still can't believe Affleck is replacing Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan. EnriqueH |
